A student of mine was told that he is poor because he doesn't believe in God?! The student was told this by a teacher! That makes my blood boil.

I talked to my student about it, and I got a better understanding of where he's coming from. He told me that he believes that there is a higher power, but he's not sure if it's the same god that the teacher believes in.

He can believe in whatever he wants to believe in; it's in his 1st Amendment Rights.
